into a life mission
My name is Alexia Talamvekos, and I am the founder of Vaya Planet, a project born from my personal and professional experiences around the world.
My story
First a beautician, I quickly realized that my true calling was with animals and nature. It was a deep, almost instinctive need to contribute to their well-being. I then pursued training as an animal caregiver, a choice that led me to incredibly enriching experiences in sanctuaries and wildlife parks. I had the opportunity to work at Forestia in Belgium, but it was in South Africa, in a wildlife rehabilitation center where I worked as a manager, that I truly found my place. I then continued my commitment in a chimpanzee sanctuary in Côte d'Ivoire, an experience that profoundly impacted me.
At the same time, I developed my skills in digital communication because I wanted associations to be able to raise awareness and find the support they need to continue their work.
But it was especially over the past 2 years that I decided to support AKATIA by recruiting committed volunteers. This adventure has been a true revelation for me. Every volunteer's story, every mission, has strengthened my desire to go further. It is from this passion that Vaya Planet was born. A project born from the desire to make a difference and bring together determined people around missions that matter.
