Since 2006, DAKTARI has been supporting South African children through education on the environment, health, and civic values, while also caring for orphaned wild animals unable to survive on their own.

This mission offers volunteers the unique opportunity to share meaningful moments with both children and animals, in an exceptional natural setting all while making a lasting, positive impact.

Your mission

What?

Join a rewarding human adventure where you will share essential knowledge with local children about nature, life, and environmental protection. You will also have the opportunity to support the rescue and care of injured or abandoned animals.

Who?

Open to anyone aged 18 and over, motivated, curious, and with a good level of English. No degree or prior experience is required—just the willingness to learn, share, and get involved.

When?
Missions are available from mid-January to mid-December, offering great flexibility to choose the dates that suit you best.

How long?

You can join from 1 to 12 weeks. Arrivals and departures take place only on Saturdays. For those seeking a longer-term commitment (up to 9 months), feel free to contact us for more details.

Your contribution directly supports children’s education, wildlife protection, and the running of the center. You can stay in a dormitory for a friendly experience, or choose a more comfortable option in a tiny house.
