Since 2006, DAKTARI has been working in South Africa to raise awareness among children about environmental protection, health, and civic values, while caring for rescued wild animals unable to survive on their own.

Your mission
What?
A meaningful and enriching human adventure where you share essential knowledge about nature, life, and environmental protection with local children. You also actively contribute to the care and rescue of injured or abandoned wild animals, as part of a solidarity-based project with real impact.
Who?
This mission is for you if you are 18 or older, motivated, curious, and comfortable speaking English.
No degree or prior experience is required, what truly matters is your willingness to share, learn, and fully engage in the field.
When?
Missions are available from mid-January to mid-December, with great flexibility to choose the dates that suit you best.
How long?
You can commit for a period ranging from 1 to 12 weeks. Arrivals and departures take place on Saturdays.

Transfer from/to Hoedspruit.
3 meals per day + drinks.
Accommodation in one of our chalets, including towels, bed linen and a mosquito net (tiny house option available at an additional cost).
Daily laundry and ironing.
Wi-Fi available in common areas.
International and domestic flights.
Tourist visa
Medical and travel insurance (mandatory).
Personal toiletries (shampoo, sunscreen, insect repellent,... ).
Sodas and alcoholic beverages.
Excursions or personal activities outside the program.
Your contribution directly supports children’s education, wildlife protection, and the running of the center. You can stay in a dormitory for a friendly experience, or choose a more comfortable option in a tiny house.
All fees are defined transparently, with no hidden costs.
Examples of contributions based on mission duration:1 week → from €710 (≈ $770)
3 weeks → from €1850 (≈ $2000)
8 weeks → from €3600 (≈ $3900)
Fees may vary depending on the duration, season, and type of accommodation.
