Wildlife Volunteering in Costa Rica

Wildlife Rescue & Rehabilitation

An immersive experience at the heart of wildlife rescue and rehabilitation in Costa Rica

Group of volunteers participating in a wildlife rehabilitation mission in Costa Rica

In the heart of Costa Rican nature, Toucan Rescue Ranch cares for injured, orphaned, and human-impacted wild animals.

Here, you join a dedicated team working in wildlife rescue, animal care, and rehabilitation, where every task directly contributes to the well-being of the animals.

My Field Perspective

What I particularly appreciate about Toucan Rescue Ranch is the balance between hands-on commitment, animal care, and public awareness.

The center follows a genuine rehabilitation approach based on respect for the animals and the daily dedication of the team.

This is far from a simple “photo volunteering” experience.

You become a real part of the center’s daily life, following the rhythm of treatments and the needs of the rescued animals.

Why this mission is different

Real hands-on fieldwork

You actively take part in animal care, feeding, and monitoring rescued wildlife.

Immersion in the daily life of the rescue center

Your days are shaped by the animals’ needs, teamwork, and life in the heart of Costa Rican nature.

A rehabilitation-focused approach

The center prioritizes respect for the animals and their return to the wild whenever possible.

A meaningful human experience

You share this journey with a dedicated team and volunteers from around the world, in a simple and deeply human environment.

No previous experience is required, but curiosity, commitment, and adaptability are essential.

When?
