Canoes on a river in the Ecuadorian Amazon

Wildlife volunteering in the Amazon
Ecuador

Immersion, rehabilitation & real impact in the heart of the jungle

Volunteer feeding a tamarin monkey at a wildlife rehabilitation center in Ecuador

The Amazon is not a backdrop.
It’s a fragile ecosystem under pressure.
A dense, living jungle sometimes demanding…
and above all, one of the richest and most threatened ecosystems on Earth.

At the heart of this forest, amaZOOnico has been working for over 30 years to rescue wild animals victims of illegal wildlife trafficking, care for them, and when possible, rehabilitate them… before releasing them back into the wild.

Here, there is no show.
No unnecessary contact.
Only what is right for the animals.

MY FIELD PERSPECTIVE :
A wildlife volunteering mission in the Ecuadorian Amazon dedicated to the rehabilitation of animals rescued from illegal trafficking.

The difference lies in the details:
• Respect for the animals’ natural rhythms
• No unnecessary human contact
• A genuine rehabilitation objective

You don’t come here to “see”.
You come to truly get involved.

Why this mission is different

Not all missions are equal.
Here’s what truly makes the difference :

A real impact on wildlife

Direct involvement in the care and rehabilitation of animals rescued from illegal wildlife trafficking.
→ Each year, hundreds of animals are rehabilitated and released back into the wild.

Hands-on learning

You discover the realities of conservation and rehabilitation techniques alongside a committed team.
→ You gain a real understanding of what happens on the ground.

A project committed to the planet

By joining this mission, you also contribute to the protection of one of the world’s most valuable ecosystems.
→ Your impact goes far beyond your personal experience.
