For over 20 years, Kids Saving the Rainforest, an iconic organization founded by Costa Rican children, has been working to preserve ecosystems and rehabilitate injured or trafficked wildlife.
As a volunteer, you will experience an immersive journey in the tropical forest, contributing to wildlife protection, environmental education, and long-lasting impact for the planet.

Your mission
What ?
Take part in the rehabilitation of rescued wildlife in an ethical sanctuary. Enrich their daily lives through enrichment activities, support enclosure maintenance, and help raise awareness among visitors about the importance of biodiversity.
Who ?
Open to anyone 18 years and older, motivated by animal welfare and conservation. No prior experience is required, just a willingness to learn, work outdoors, and share community life.
When ?
Missions are available year-round, with flexible dates depending on availability.
How long ?
From 1 week to several months: the longer you stay, the more you immerse yourself in the project, develop valuable skills, and enjoy an even more rewarding experience.

What’s Included in Your Fee
Vaya Planet Support: Personalized guidance before, during, and after your mission.
3 homemade meals per day: Varied buffet with vegetarian options. Water, tea, and coffee included.
Accommodation (depending on the option selected), with bed linen provided.
Access to a laundry room and weekly cleaning service.
Wi-Fi available in common areas (occasional outages possible in the heart of the jungle).
What’s Not Included in Your Fee
International and domestic flights.
Transfer to/from Quepos (town center or bus station) – optional and arranged upon request.
Medical and travel insurance (mandatory).
Personal toiletries (e.g. shampoo, sunscreen, insect repellent).
Drinks outside of meals (e.g. soft drinks).
Excursions or personal activities outside the program.
Your contribution directly supports animal care, the protection of the tropical rainforest, and the sanctuary’s operations. You can choose to stay in a shared dormitory or opt for a private or shared bungalow for more comfort.
